 Designed to inspire Western Washington high-school students toward careers in
construction and to showcase a friendly, exciting and professional industry that cares
about them and their future, Construction Career Day 2008 is a vibrant hands-on event
that both educates and offers the opportunity to build partnerships between
industry, government and education.

Attend
High School Students will have the opportunity to experience an interactive career event
and be creativelyexposed to career options in the construction industry
--plus have a chance to leave their classroom for the day.

There will be Three Areas:
Outdoor Heavy Equipment • Students are encouraged to operate rigs, tools and equipment.
Indoor Hands-on Construction Activities • Students can try their hand at activities
such as laying mortar on brick, survey map reading or running a crane simulator.
Indoor Information • Students will be exposed to local Educational Programs,
Industry Associations, Apprenticeship Training Programs and Federal Trainee Programs, etc.
These organizations will offer short sessions about their programs and support services.


Student Tips!
Wear Long Pants (no saggy baggies)
Wear substantial shoes (boots are preferable, flip-flops and open toes are not)
Bring a warm coat (some exhibits are outdoors)
Personal Safety equipment will be provided (hard hats, safety glasses, etc)
Students must arrive with their school group

The cost for each young attendee is estimated at $200.

Your donation of $5,000
sponsors 25 potential construction professionals,
$2500 brings 12 young people,
$1,000 supports 5, and so on.
